WE 35.0 TURN PALE Kill the Lights CD TURN PALE is a band, from Bloomington Indiana, seeking to explore the dark corners of the dance floor, within a decidely punk aesthetic. TURN PALE blend turbulent, striking post-punk (influenced more by the early 80's ROUGH TRADE sound than by newer bands) while remaining uptempo and danceable (think: THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, THE POP GROUP, PiL) to create a raw and genuine mix of old-school influence to their style. Lockstep, bass-heavy midtempo rhythms anchor piercing guitar chords and drones, all accented by Michael Anderson's over-the-top vocals and performance create powerful, well-conceived and executed blasts of apocalyptic dour rock. Their "contemporaries" would read something like: THE RAPTURE, LOVE LIFE, LIARS, THE VOGUE, but they bring far more to the table than be expressed in a few mere sentences. TURN PALE have toured the US thrice in the last 2 years and will continue this tradition in support of their debut full length "KILL THE LIGHTS", with a European tour to follow.
