Coming from the midwest melting pot, Slingshot Episode bring in a combination of tightly structured DC sound and a more poppy, Bay-Area sensibility. Comparisons have been made to San Francisco’s Tilt and Florida’s Discount, but Slingshot Episode’s sound is unique and not easily definable by labeling them as a cross between bands whose main similarity is that they both have female singers. A more reasonable description might be that Slingshot Episode blends the musical qualities of bands like Jawbreaker and Jawbox with the vocal uniqueness of Sleater-Kinney.
